The Taig DSLS 3000 uses Mach3 as its CNC controller program, and it comes with a Mach3 license. Mach3 runs fine on Windows 7. The reason so many people use XP is that it's the version that's usually on the older computers that have parallel ports, which are usually used to run the Taig.
Anyone Familiar with Micro Mill DSLS 3000? The Home Machinist!
Tonight I saw that some guy is advertising a Micro Mill DSLS 3000 4axis CNC mill for 800 with tooling, controller, and Mach 3. He claims it's like new. I have no need of this thing, but it retails for 3700, and I assume that software could also be used for a lathe. It might be a nice way to learn about CNC milling on the cheap.

Hello, I've got a MicroMill DSLS 3000. It has been giving me a "Servo Error" which indicates it is losing pulses. When I put a scope on the drive step lines on the paralell port I see a good 8us pulse in the negative direction. Does anyone know the correct step pulse polarity for this unit? Thanks in advance. Hello, I have been thinking about investing in a CNC micro milling machine for quite some time. The idea is very temping. However, they are not cheap and my knowledge of which machine is capable of doing what is sketchy at best. I have a background in 3D modeling for TV and Film which I am hoping will translate to a certain degree at least, into machining.
